Class: 4 - Lesson: 6 Text Document (Text Selection and Properties)

Purpose: To learn about OpenOffice text documents, to improve typing, to apply styling to text such as bold, italic and underline, and to select text.

Material Required

OpenOffice.

Prior Knowledge

Students should know:

  • How to type text.
  • How to create a folder.
  • How to open and save a file.

    1. Explain selection methods such as double click, triple click, Ctrl + A, Shift + arrow keys, and left click + dragging in text documents.

    Exercise 2



    1. Explain font style (font name, font size, bold, italic, underline, shadow, undo, redo, bullets and numbering) in a text document.
